The Honor Flight and Portable Oxygen Concentrators

Relying upon a supplemental oxygen device should not discourage anyone from travelling or flying, much less to achieve a lifelong dream. In particular, this applies especially to veterans who would like to take part in the Honor Flight.

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, an estimated 640 WWII veterans die each day. Honor Flight Network will continue do whatever it takes to fulfill the dreams of our veterans and help our heroes travel absolutely free.

Portable oxygen devices are the perfect solution for our veterans to take with them as they pursue this unforgettable journey they’ve been longing to embark on for years. These incredible servicemen and servicewomen deserve the opportunity to be honored, to have their dreams fulfilled, and to receive closure, regardless of their medical needs.

What is the Honor Flight?

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, an estimated 640 WWII veterans die each day. Honor Flight Network will continue do whatever it takes to fulfill the dreams of our veterans and help our heroes travel absolutely free.

The Honor Flight Network was founded when Earl Morse, a member of staff at a Department of Veteran Affairs clinic and retired Air Force Captain, realized that many veteran patients may never be able to visit the National World War II Memorial in Washington DC. Being a pilot himself, Morse pitched the idea of voluntarily flying veterans to the memorial to private pilots, and funds were raised as volunteers piled in. Soon after, a man named Jeff Miller took on a similar idea, but with commercial pilots and airlines. And the rest was history!

In 2016 alone, over 20,000 veterans took the Honor Flight to the memorials commemorating their services and their fallen friends and fellow veterans. We are endlessly thankful to our veterans for fighting for our country, putting their lives on the line for ours, and for serving the nation. They dedicated their lives to preserving freedom, and we believe they should also have freedom of their own.

Liberty Medical has provided veterans with portable oxygen concentrators as they make their trip to Washington DC to see the memorials built in their honor for several years. As a veteran-owned business, we feel privileged to be the providers of these devices for veterans, and it’s an honor to be part of such a wonderful tribute to them. In addition, we have worked with the Department of Veteran Affairs since 2008 in order to provide veterans with the oxygen concentrators they need.
